MATTHEW DEVISSE

Matt Devisse is a Board-Certified Litigation Attorney at Coleman, Yovanovich & Koester, P.A. in Naples, Florida. A Naples native, Matt has deep roots in Southwest Florida, where he dedicates both his professional expertise and personal efforts to serving his community. He is one of only a handful of attorneys in Florida to hold Board Certification in both Business Litigation and Construction Law by The Florida Bar, a distinction earned through demonstrated experience, expertise, and professionalism. Matt is one of the youngest attorneys ever in the State of Florida to achieve Board Certification in Business Litigation by The Florida Bar.

Since joining the firm in 2015, Matt has successfully handled a wide range of complex litigation matters, including multimillion-dollar corporate disputes, construction defect litigation, trust and estate matters, and appellate advocacy, including oral arguments, before Florida’s District Courts of Appeal. His track record includes securing judgments and favorable settlements exceeding tens of millions of dollars for his clients. In addition to his client work, Matt’s work includes drafting several articles, ranging from the Apex Doctrine to recovering attorneys’ fees in litigation, that have been published in The Florida Bar Journal, with his attorneys’ fees article leading to the receipt of the Florida Bar’s Excellence in Writing Award in 2022.  

 Matt has had equal success in the real estate sector. Through his representation of large scale developers, owners, general contractors, and subcontractors, Matt has gained unique and specialized knowledge regarding all aspects of the real estate process. From procuring the land, to designing the structure, obtaining the financing, going through the building process, and the eventual sales process, Matt has experience with it all. Matt is also the owner of several successful local single family rentals, and owns two separate self-managed out-of-State properties that are highly successful short term rentals. Both through his professional experience and personal investments, Matt has experience with all facets of real estate, including development, financing, property management, and rentals.  

 Outside of the courtroom, Matt is committed to giving back. He co-founded a Donor Advised Fund with his siblings through the Southwest Florida Community Foundation, aimed at supporting local children for generations to come. He has also volunteered as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast and has played a key role in local civic organizations like the Kiwanis Club of Bonita Springs. Matt was also the recipient of the Legal Aid Services of Collier County’s Attorney of the Month Award in October 2018 for his help of a Veteran in obtaining housing assistance. Known for his “push, push, push” mentality, Matt embraces challenges with enthusiasm and a deep desire to succeed — whether completing a Half Ironman without training or traveling the world in pursuit of new adventures. He brings that same passion and energy to every client he serves.

Matt lives in Naples with his wife Emily, a former occupational therapist and now stay at home mom to their three beautiful young children, Benjamin, Henley, and Tanner. He enjoys CrossFit, basketball, tennis, and an array of adventurous outdoor activities.
